Excel Dashboard: Maven Hotel Group

The Maven Toys project is part of the course, "Microsoft Excel: Advanced Excel Dashboard Design," on Udemy.

In this mock project, a colleague at the Maven Hotel Group (MHG) needs help visualizing insights found in the data. The data is booking information for the resort from July 2015 to August 2017, with over 110,000 records. Measures included are booking ID, hotel, arrival, distribution channel, customer type, country, deposit type, status, status update, canceled, lead time, nights, guests, revenue, and loss.

The provided excel document includes two worksheets: one with the raw data and the other with analyses by our colleague. The goal is to create a dashboard to explain the story told in the analyses.

The objectives of the project are to:

1. Visualize each insight effectively.

2. Use color consistently & deliberately.

3. Leverage dashboard layout & text to clearly communicate key insights and business recommendations.

This project includes the following features:

• pivot charts and partial pivot charts,

• conditional number formats,

• posting as an image to export the dashboard.
